It was the logical next step in assuring Google’s dominance of the internet. Google has launched its Chrome web browser, and it delivers. The interface flows smoothly and the pages load quickly. It takes the best from both Firefox and IE and meshes them into a seamless interface that will cater to everyone. The lightweight browser lets you preview pages, get search suggestions when you enter an address, and create shortcuts to your favorite web applications. It’s amazing to see how well it works for a beta version. It’s evident that Google has been waiting to launch this product until it was ready, and since Microsoft recently launched a new version of Internet Explorer, the time is just right. Like everything Google does, the browser is simple and minimalistic. While this might not appeal to the heavy web user, average users will think highly of this. You can preview the most visited websites in thumbnail format, allowing for quick and easy access.

Google and Mozilla do work closely together, hence why the splash screen on Mozilla is a Google search (firefox version). I have used chrome. I don’t think much of it but the task manager and applications shortcuts are very cool. Also the speed is fantastic. Although each tab is a new instance of the browser. I had to install it to see the what and hows now personally I wont be using it as I want Google to have more traffic data than they do already.

“Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.”

Be sure to read the fine print all though it seems they already edited there terms of service. Here is what is had.

11.Content license from you
11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the Services and may be revoked for certain Services as defined in the Additional Terms of those Services.

11.2 You agree that this license includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organizations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services, and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.

11.3 You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this license shall permit Google to take these actions.

11.4 You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above license.

I am no lawyer but when you talk like that then it scares me. Google already collects way too much information about and our surfing habits this only adds to it.

Chrome is definitely simple and fast. However, it supports no addons or widgets which is also important in browsing. Speed is not everything man!

I like Google Chrome for how each tab’s memory process is independent of each other, so if one of the pages slows down or crashes, it won’t affect the others.

Its a little scary to think about all the information google will be able to accumulate with this addition.
